If you’re anywhere near New England right now, or even if you listen to the national weather, it may seem bizarre to post a frozen cocktail when we’re about to be smacked with a nor’easter. Maybe it is. But I beg to differ. See, the only way to survive a “crippling” blizzard, (with a good chance of zero power), is to hunker down with some good company, board games, and booze. Because seriously, what else do you for 48 hours with NO TECHNOLOGY! What did they do in the storm of ’78? Oh you know…drive snowmobiles everywhere. For two weeks. Maybe we could do that.

Our most favorite way to survive any storm has usually included a good cocktail…another favorite would be frozen weird, but something about them warms me up on snowy days. Maybe it reminds me of drinking coffee, as if I’m laying on the beach in the Caribbean. Maybe that’s what Ill pretend is going on the next couple of days! Since that’s what this margarita tastes like!

This Frozen Pineapple Mango Margarita, tastes like the Caribbean in a glass. All you need is a little bit of island music, some sunglasses, and a cabana boy! Its perfectly fruity and slushy, makes a BIG pitcher, and can be refrozen and drank later if you don’t finish it all. It may be my new favorite frozen marg! Stay warm! 😉

Frozen Pineapple Mango Margaritas

Total Time: 10 minutes

Yield: 8 Cups

Frozen Pineapple Mango Margaritas


  • 1 1/2 cups frozen mango chunks
  • 1 1/4 cups frozen pineapple chunks
  • 1/4 cup simple syrup
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed clementine juice (about 6 clementines)
  • Juice of 1 large lime
  • 8 ounces silver tequila
  • Ice cubes as needed (about 10)


  1. Add all the ingredients with the exception of the ice to the blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Add ice until you reach desired consistency.
  3. Serve with salted or sugar rimmed glass if desired! Enjoy!


To freeze leftovers, I just stored it in mason jars. Pull them out of the freezer about 10-15 minutes before you are ready to drink them, and using a fork or spoon, jab at them a bit to loosen into a slush!

    • I make it! Its equal parts sugar and water, simmered and stirred until the sugar dissolves! Hope you try it! It’s one of my favorites!

  6. could you substitute any thing else for the clementines if you can’t get them?

  7. I’ve just now whipped up a batch but I only yielded less than 4 cups of total volume. Any thoughts on why?

    • hmm..if you used the same amount of ingredients, I’m not sure why..the only thing I could think is a difference in the amount of ice used.
